What you might think the Bible is...

A Strict Rulebook

The Bible is full of harsh, outdated laws from a sometimes loving, sometimes judgmental God that believers follow out of fear or for reward.

Just Mythology

A Tool of Control

A Self-Help Book

The Bible is just a collection of ancient stories written before science, full of contradictions and unreliable history.

The Bible is and has been used by religious leaders to manipulate, oppress, and justify discrimination.

The Bible is full of inspirational quotes and stories, but is not meant to be taken literally.

The Bigger Picture...

What the Bible's actually about.

A Story of Our Need

The laws in the Bible were never about earning God’s approval - they were a mirror, revealing our deep inability to live righteously. No matter how hard we try, we fail. The laws expose our desperate need for a Saviour, someone who could do what we never could. That Saviour is Jesus. From the very beginning, the Bible was not about proving ourselves to God, but about leading us to the One who would take our place and offer us grace.

A Story Rooted in Reality

A Story of Freedom

A Story of Rescue

A Story for Everyone

The Bible is a record of real history, speaking truth that archaeology, science, and historical evidence affirm. While science explains how the world works, it cannot tell us why we exist or what gives life meaning. Yet, the very structure of the universe, the precision of natural laws, and the historical reliability of Scripture all point to an intentional Creator. Faith and reason were never at odds—the deeper we look, the more we find that science affirms what Scripture has said all along.

The Bible has been the foundation of human dignity, justice, and freedom. It inspired the abolition of slavery, the civil rights movement, and the pursuit of human rights. Jesus Himself stood against religious corruption, lifted up the outcast, and condemned those who misused power. When Christianity is distorted, it brings oppression—but when it is lived as Jesus intended, it brings restoration, setting people free to love, serve, and live in truth.

The Bible is not about self-improvement—it is about salvation. It doesn’t tell us to try harder or believe in ourselves; it tells us the hard truth: we are lost, incapable of saving ourselves. But in Jesus, the perfect image of the transcendent God, we find our rescue. He took on the separation from life that we chose when we turned from God. And through His resurrection, He offers us not just guidance, but new life—true, eternal, abundant life in Him.

The invitation of Jesus is the most radically inclusive call in history. He does not seek the strong, the perfect, or the self-sufficient—He calls the broken, the weary, and the sinner. No background, past, or failure can exclude anyone from His grace. He is the King who calls us into His family, not as servants, but as beloved sons and daughters. In giving ourselves to Him, we do not lose—we gain everything.

Your new understanding of the Bible

Not a Rulebook...

The Bible’s laws reveal our inability to live up to God’s standard, showing our need for a Savior. Rather than a checklist for earning favor, it points us to Jesus, the only one who fulfilled the law perfectly and offers grace to all who trust in Him.

Not a Myth...

Not Oppressive...

Not Self-Help...

but a Mirror

but a Foundation

but Transformative

but a Rescue

The Bible is deeply historical and confirmed by archaeology, history, and even science. While science tells us "how" the world works, it cannot answer "why." The Bible provides that answer, offering wisdom beyond human limitations.

Far from being a tool of control, the Bible has driven social progress throughout history—abolishing slavery, advancing human rights, and uplifting the vulnerable. It calls all people to love, justice, and mercy, regardless of background.

The Bible isn’t about personal improvement or striving to be better. It exposes our brokenness and utter inability to save ourselves. We don’t need life tips - we need a Savior. Jesus doesn’t offer advice; He gives Himself, taking on the death we chose so we can have true life in Him.

"The more you know the essence of a thing, the better able you are to use it for its proper purpose."

"It is Christ Himself, not the Bible, who is the true Word of God. The Bible, read in the right spirit and with the guidance of good teachers, will bring us to Him."
